To provide staff with management roles in construction sites with clear concepts and roles on modern health and safety management so that they can apply appropriate techniques and skills to process related routine challenges.
Programme Objectives
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:
- a. Analyze modern health and safety management concepts in relation to both local and international requirements;
- Explain features of various safety and health management systems;
- Describe the contents and the importance of different elements in health and safety management system;
- Demonstrate proper skills to monitor the health and safety management system effectively; and
- Explain the implications of local health and safety legal requirements on day-to-day operation in workplace

Award of Certification
“Professional Certificate in Construction Health and Safety Management” will be awarded to participants who have completed the full programme requirement with 75% or above attendance rate and obtained an overall pass (50%) in the examination.
Trainers Profile – Dr Alex Tse
Dr Tse Chun Kuen, Alex is a seasoned health, safety and environment practitioner, educator, mentor and training professional. He has over 28 years of solid experience in occupational health, safety and environment (HSE). He started his career as a frontline HSE practitioner in local universities then later moving onto management and teaching of various programmes related to HSE. Dr. Tse has contributed to professional and community services related to occupational health and safety for many years and counting.
Dr Tse is a Hong Kong Registered Safety Officer, Registered Professional Hygienist, and Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from American Board of Industrial Hygiene, a Professional Member of Arboricultural Association and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (FIIRSM) and the Hong Kong Institution of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (FMHKIOEH). He is currently serving several local and overseas health and safety organisations as Honorary Secretary, Honorary Advisor, Chair, Council Member and Committee Member respectively.
