    About the Speakers

    Mr. Daniel CHUN
Daniel is currently the CEO of Remotec Technology Limited and he volunteers as the Executive Director at Smart City Academy and as Chairman for Research and Blueprint committee at SCC. He had been with SCC since 2016 (as council member) having led public consultation and delivered SCC’s Blueprint Advisory Report in 2016 and 2020.

At Remotec, he leads the company in delivering Smart Home, IoT and analytics cloud-based solutions. With numerous awards awarded, Daniel’s IoT solution had won HKIE (END) First prize twice (2016 and 2019) for SmartAirCon and Airxed solutions. Besides his intimate involvement in the electronics and IoT sector, He frequently delivers speeches, training seminars (including those for HKSAR CSBTI, and other professional bodies). Daniel has been a lecturer with both City University and HKUSPACE since 2013 in various technology-related subjects. Daniel has 3 Masters degree (M.Sc, M.Res, MBA), a B.Sc and is currently defending his PhD proposal in Smart City Leadership. Daniel holds 3 patents and his customers at Remotec includes Facebook, Roku, Honeywell, Vivint, Polycom, Jasco, Chubu Electric and many other consumer electronics brand. Recently, he was also invited as part of the focus group by ARCADIS to be involved in HKGBC’s new guidebook related to Smart Living / Smart Buildings.

    Mr. NG Ming Lam
Ming is the one of the top innovators in Hong Kong for IoT product design and also the countrywide implementation. He is the founding member of MIoT Limited in Hong Kong Science Park as the Chief Technology Officer and the inventor of two US patents.

Ming with his team focuses in the non-camera-based technology for the countrywide smart city implementation. His area of expertise includes Millimetre-wave radar analysis, LiDAR measurement, Time-of-flight sensing and the social distancing hybrid system. His recent involvements in various Proof-Of-Concept projects deployed with various SI, utilities, property management companies, EMSD and others proves to be valuable for any property owner and developer. Currently he applies these advance mmWave radar in a public museum for the energy-saving air conditioning control systems, smart toilets with people counting and analysis, occupancy detection, indoor air quality – covering both infrastructure and applications design. Ming currently holds 5 patents in sensing technologies and methods. Ming had been involved in developing LED luminaries at Philips with patented design for green power saving. Ming received his Master degree in Electronic Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and his career began at Hong Kong Productivity Council as an IC designer for GSM phones and Bluetooth devices. Over the past 20 years, Ming has been developing his professionalism in the cutting-edge telecommunication and object sensing technology.
