Sewerage has been essential for safeguarding public health since the early days of Hong Kong’s urban development, and particularly since 1970s for inland and coastal water pollution control. For a more sustainable socio-economic development in times of climate change, a comprehensive sewerage infrastructure has become increasingly important for Hong Kong.

This course aims to equip participants with skills on sewerage infrastructure planning, sewerage projects investigation, design, construction and operation & management. It addresses Gravity Sewers, Sewage Rising Mains and Sewage Pumping Stations in accordance with the Sewerage Manual (Parts 1 and 2) of the Drainage Services Department (DSD). This course will be conducted in a series of lectures by a local expert.

- Overall System Planning
Gravity Sewers
Pumps and Pumping Systems
- Centrifugal Pumping Stations and Rising Mains
