Nature and Objective

The objective of this workshop is to transfer the latest thermal coating and surface technologies to local manufacturers for supporting to move up the ladder in diversification into value-added engineering and critical components manufacturing. Besides the concepts of the state-of-the art technologies, the required equipment as well as processing conditions and parameters setting techniques will be introduced. A large number of case studies are included to elaborate the applications, technological details, cost effectiveness in adopting thermal surface coating and hardening technologies for different industrial applications.

  1. Surface Coating by Laser Cladding
  2. Micro Cladding, Large-Area Cladding and Hybrid Laser Cladding
  3. Coatings and Applications: Metal Matrix Composites, Corrosion Protection, Direct Metal Deposition on Large Components and Tools
  4. Case Studies on Coating by Laser Cladding in Different Industries
  5. Laser Heat Treatment and Hardening
  6. Thermal Imaging System, Fast Pyrometer and other Equipment and Accessories for Laser Hardening
  7. Laser Hardening Process Flow and Optimization: Laser Energy Absorption, Oxide Layer, Heat Flow, Stabilization, Holding Time, Quenching
  8. Case Studies on Technology and Equipment on Laser Hardening for Different Industrial Applications
