Nature and Objective

The objective of this workshop is to transfer the latest ceramic materials, its fabrication technologies as well as processing characteristics for stamping, die casting, precision cutting and other operations to local manufacturers. The subject technologies to be transferred will support local industries to move up the ladder and engage in value-added engineering and critical components manufacturing.

Besides the concepts of the state-of-the art technologies, the required equipment as well as processing conditions and parameters setting techniques will be introduced. A significant number of case studies are included to elaborate the applications, technological details, cost effectiveness in adopting ceramics for making cutters, tooling and critical parts for stamping, die casting, cutting and other common manufacturing operations.

Content

Day 1

1. Types of advanced ceramic materials for different critical parts, components and tooling;
2. Characteristics, physical and chemical properties of advanced ceramic materials;
3. Fabrication and Machining characteristics of advanced ceramic materials;
4. Fabrication methodologies, processes, equipment and processing parameters of advanced ceramic materials;
5. Optimization of design for stamping, diecasting and precision machining applications with advanced ceramic materials;

Day 2

1. Advanced ceramic materials applications and case studies in stamping industry (anticorrosion and high strength stamping die);
2. Advanced ceramic materials applications and case studies in die-casting industry (anticorrosion and self-lubrication coatings in die-casting die);
3. Advanced ceramic materials applications and case studies in precision cutting industry (strong hardness and crack-resistance cutting tool);
4. Advanced ceramic materials cost consideration and cost-functional balance of advanced ceramics;

 

Course Fee

HKD 3,900 / person (Excluding Lunch)
