Purpose
To enhance hygiene management in food establishments and factories across Hong Kong. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department requires food establishments to appoint employees who have completed a basic food hygiene course as Hygiene Managers or Hygiene Supervisors. Their role is to conduct daily checks on operations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes.
Target Audience
This course is suitable for supervisory-level personnel in the food and beverage industry and individuals who have completed the Hygiene Supervisor Course. It aims to enhance the food safety and hygiene knowledge and application of relevant employees to meet legal requirements.
Course Exemption for Hygiene Supervisor
Participants who have completed the Hygiene Supervisor Course offered by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) are exempt from attending the first day of the course. They are only required to attend the second and third days.
Course Recognition and Certificate Awarding
1. Certificate with qualification for Hygiene Manager
Participants who successfully complete the course and pass the exam will receive a certificate. This certificate is recognized by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department as a qualification for Hygiene Manager.
Exam arrangement
The course includes one exam session. If participants do not achieve a passing grade, they are given two opportunities to retake the exam. The first retake is free of charge, while the second retake requires a fee of HKD 250.
